fore arm block

FOREARM BLOCK

Martial artists often learn a series of blocks to protect themselves from punches and kicks The forearm block is used to deflect an attacker's punch while simultaneously hurting his arm. Perform the forearm block by first pointing your fist at your ear and pointing your elbow to the side. Swing your upper arm across the front of your chest. The outer edge of your forearm should make contact with the assailant's arm. Correct timing is essential in successfully blocking an incoming punch. You can also use the forearm block as a defense against a lapel grab. Use this technique to force an assailant to let go of your shirt.

                                                            STUNT NO.2

This is my second article in my blog i.e. about shorin-ryu.

Shorin-ryu

Shorin-ryu was founded by Choshin Chibana in the 1930s. Shorin is the Japanese word for Shaolin, the name of the famous martial arts temple in China. The name reflects the fact that Chibana's karate is a mixture of Shuri-te, an Okinawan martial art, and the Chinese martial arts Chibana learned during his travels.

Shuri-ryu

Shuri-ryu is the earliest karate style to be developed in the United States. It was founded by Robert Trias, who studied martial arts in the Pacific during World War II. The style is an eclectic style, assembled during the 1940s and 50s from Okinawan Shuri-te and Naha-te as well as Chinese Hsing-I and kung fu.
